i did a write erase, then put back the same config..
it works now..
duno what went wrong...
what i notice is...
in R2... the Routing information source on R2 actually shows ip addr of the
serial int of R1 instead of empty.

any clue why this happens ? can't i do a clear ip rout * to restart my RIP
process ?

hi - can you show us your configs?
Also - do you get any clues from 'sh ip rip database' on each router?

I assume you're putting 1.0.0.254 into rip with a network statement
and not using redistribute .. also that you don't have anything odd on
R2 like offset-lists ?
