I agree that tag is really powerful and easy to understand when using it. But I am still concern with path redundant issue. For an example,
- let say we have R1 and R2 are running ospf in one site and rip on other site. (multi point redistribution)
- We do mutual redistribution on R1 and R2 and set tag while redistribute rip into OSPF
- Then we use acl/prefix list to filter route before inject back into RIP on other router.
But the problem is, let say R1 interface on RIP site down. Now R1 need to get the route info from R2 so it can go through via other site instead. But because the tag that already been applied to filter out this information so redundant will never happen in this case.
Sorry using only sentence will be difficult to understand the scenario. Anyway, what do you think?
