Hi,

You can use the offset-list feature as well. Create an ACL with a match any
condition for instance. Increase the number of hops with 15 for incoming
routes. The receiving router will treat all routes as inaccessible and no
RIP routes will be installed.

Please notice that this is the "gateway of last resort" of your
configuration options. It's nice to now, but if you can choose an easier
configuration option just do it!

1) Make sure the other router(s) running RIP on the segment are also
passive.
2) Use an access-list to filter RIP.

Normally I configure RIP like this:

router rip
  net 10.0.0.0
  passive default < make all interfaces passive
  no passive s0/0 < only allow RIP on s0/0

When you configure RIP like this you're sure RIP is only allowed on the
interface which it needs to be on.
