Its possible if not very elegant look at the config below:
#####R3#######################
interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address 34.34.34.100 255.255.255.0
duplex auto
speed auto
vrrp 1 ip 34.34.34.100
end
#####R4######################
interface FastEthernet0/0
ip address 34.34.34.4 255.255.255.0
duplex auto
speed auto
vrrp 1 ip 34.34.34.100
vrrp 1 priority 90
end
Its a bit messy as when R3 is the master the arp response for
34.34.34.100(virtual) is the physical address of R3. When R4 takes
over its uses the more normal virtual MAC address. So you are depening
on gratious ARP. Chris maybe you can comment if this is expected
behaviour for 12.2.15T14 , I would not have that it was from my reading
of the RFC ?
I tested it and it seems to failover quicker if you add the following config
to R3
mac-address 0000.5e00.0101
