concurrent bridging and routing

Hi group,

I dont have a lab at hand to test this, so maybe you can help:

Suppose i have two router R1 and R2. Both connected to 2 VLANs: VLAN1
and VLAN2

------------ VLAN 1 ------------
| |
R1 R2
| |
-------------VLAN 2 ------------

Regarding IP, there is no problem. Interface are configured with IP
address and are routing.
But the VLANs also contain AS400 SNA devices, so i need to configure
bridging: so you configure 'bridge group 1' on each
interface. Of course, Spanning Tree will block one interface somewhere
since otherwise there will be a loop.

My question is: is this interface blocked for bridged traffic only ? Or
will the IP routed traffic also be affected ???
