ISIS MD5 authentication has been supported since 12.2(13)T as specified below, and te routers you'll use in the lab are capable of having it configured on them..

Hello,

Level 1/2 mode is the default configuration in Cisco Routers, for
general authentication are based if you are L1 or L2 connection, for L2
is a domain Password in router ISIS.. For L1 is an Area Password - You
must take in account your topology .. also we can set up the passwords
on specifics interface . If you do not specify a level, the default is
Level 1. By default, authentication is disabled. All Authentication
right now in ISIS is Clear Text, I think that the IOS Version that we
are having in the lab does not support MD5, but the configuration for
MD5 in Service Providers IOS is the same as we do in EIGRP or RIPv2
