Hello Raja,

There is no need to have RPM on the MGX if you are trying to carry
L2 traffic to be terminated at 7600.
The configuration would be something like you need to have atm
address on the sub-interface of 7600. After getting the atm address of the
specific subinterface on 7600, you just do add con on MGX from FRSM as it is
master end point connect to the atm address on sub-interface of 7600. Doing
this means you are carry L2 traffic to terminate at 7600 but if you put RPM
on MGX that mean the communication between MGX and 7600 will be L3.

Subject: WAN Switching MGX and 7600 help

Hi Guys ,

Need help in getting MGX 8850 configuration, I am aggregating a bunch of
E1 at MGX 8850 using FRSM card at location A and using AXSM card a STM 1
output, I am taking it to Location B where I have Cisco 7613 to
terminate.
 --E1---
 --E1-- -- FRSM-MGX-AXSM -----STM1-----Cisco 7600-----
 --E1----

In simple terms, E1s terminated at FRSM gets aggregated and AXSM STM1
WAN to Cisco 7613, am wondering to do this, and do I need to have RPM in
the MGX 8850 or just with the above configuration, what I am trying to
do.

I understand, if we I have a MGX 8850 at the Location as well then I
can get rid of the RPM, but then I don't have an option, need to have
the 7600, can some enlighten me with this.

 Thanking you in advance,
 Raja
