PPPoAtm + encapsulation

Hi,
very short question.
Just funny. In very many examples of its configuration it is stated that
encapsulation ppp should be configured under virtualt-template 1. But when I
configure

interface Virtual-Template1
ip addresx xxxxxxx
enc ppp

only

interface Virtual-Template1
ip addresx xxxxxxx

is dispayed under show run. Does this mean that virtual-template have always
ppp encapsulation by default and it shouldn't be explicitly configured???
