Currently going thru a painful wireless implemenation with 61 WAPs (1232A/G) with 7920 phones. Cisco just posted a release of 12.3.7 JA1 to fix a memory leak we experienced when using WDS and LEAP. We also implemented WLSE. You might wish to purchase the Air Magnet software, attend a class, and when you perform your wireless site survey set your power settings as low as possible on both the WAP and laptop, and be careful with antenna selection. Depending upon the age of the construction, you can run into some serious vertical RF bleed thru, and less horizontal penetration.

Hi,
I would recommend picking up a copy of the Cisco Press book
"802.11Wireless Site Surveying and Installation" ISBN 1-58705-164-8.
In Ch. 11 pg.
259 there are some handy tables which show the absolute and recommended RX
thresholds at your cell boundaries. For example, for 54Mbps coverage it
lists the absolute minimum RX threshold of -71, recommended minimum RX
threshold of -61, absolute minimum SnR of 25, and recommended SnR of 35. It
lists these recommended values for all of the 802.11a/b/g data rates and
also goes on to cover the recommended values if you are going to be running
voice on the wireless network. I take these tables with me any time I do a
survey as a general guideline to follow. There's also a lot of other good
information about performing surveys in the book. For online information,
there is also some good information in the SRND for wireless at
http://www.cisco.com/go/srnd
This doc shows the radiation patterns for most of the antennae:
