Trading/financial Services Company located in downtown Manhattan/Wall
Street location

Position Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs data communications functions related to the brokers and
member firms
2. Diagnoses problems using network tools, recommends solutions and
coordinates repair efforts
3. Develops procedures to support daily operations
4. Monitors the network activities and take preventive actions if
necessary
5. Interfaces with vendors to resolve network-related problem
6. Performs traffic measurement, path testing to establish the baseline
7. Evaluates new technology and services to meet the business need
8. Ensures installed network is operating efficiently and effectively
9. Performs in-depth analysis and design of network architectures
10. Effectively identify and communicate the RISK of any network related
implementations
11. Works with the Information Security Engineers to enforce the
Corporate Security Policy
12. Provide on-call support during off-hours on a rotation basis
13. Incumbent may perform additional tasks and/or special projects as
directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, MIS or
equivalent
2. Experience: 5-8 years experience in the Data Communication field
including multiple routing protocols (EIGRP,BGP or RIP) and large
network design
3. Special Equipment Knowledge: Cisco routers and switches
4. Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model
5. Qualities: Demonstrated analytic, written and oral communication
skills
