This will be my first attempt and I would like to have a solid and
logical plan of action to work my way through. Some of this approach
is based on how I worked through Novell's "lab exam" a couple of years
ago (I know there is no comparison between the two but general plan is
the same). Please share any thoughts and what your plan of action was
(or is).
1 - Quickly look over what I have to work with (PC, docs, etc)
2 - Open router connections / DOC CD
3 - Make my own topology drawing
4 - Read exam
- Organize tasks into core or peripheral
- Organize tasks based on my knowledge
- Know it
- Have a clue
- No idea
- Note tasks and any first thoughts
- Note possible issues with other tasks
5 Complete core layer 2 (switching, frame, ATM, ISDN)
6 Verify basic connectivity
- Create TCL script
7 Complete core IGP
8 Complete core BGP
****************** core network complete and tested *****************
****************** lunch break *****************
9 Complete peripheral (know it)
10 - Complete peripheral (have a clue)
11 - Complete peripheral (no idea)
12 Use any remaining time to review every task until they make me stop!
TIA
