Hi,

I recently deployed a pair of ASA5510s running as active/standby.
From configuration point of view its exactly like a PIX running version 7.0
of IOS.
It looks very stable and easy to configure.

One thing to note - IPS (inline) runs on a separate module which has to be
ordered separately.
Also the IPS configuration is done on a separate console or a separate web
front.
My take on this is that Cisco has quite well merged both the PIX and the VPN
component
under one box and configuration console but not the IPS component.
Unfortunately this is not very well documented anywhere, specially the
marketing statements
which is very misleading.

Subject: ASA product opinion

Good day-
Does anyone have any opinions on the ASA product line? I am reading through
the whitepapers and it looks like a great new technology. Have any of you
deployed it and do you have praises/regrets?
