Hi....
I dont agree with you on this one. First of all, al-though you have to pay
600 for the
exam fee, you will have so much value in those certification in form of more
salary
at any job you have , so 600 will be a small fee to pay compared to what you
get from the result of having those certifications. You will make yourselfe
more waluable for your firm and other firms.
Second, going for the ccie track is a lon lon way, and I am talking years..
Since you have this long way it is nice to have the possibility to set
smaller goals for you on the way. This will help you focus all the way.
Tird, starting directly on a ccie cert is just to hard. You have no clue of
what you need to know, what level you need to have, so taking this smaller
steps, will help you see those levels you need to have to reach your goals
as you go on.
Anyway... here is a link to a site where you can find whatever you will need
for your ccna, racks, study guids, hands on workbooks and much more...
I would suggest you either rent a rack like this, or buy your selfe som
cheap 2500's in stead of going for some router simulator. Since you have
plans to do the ccie, then you will have a great advantage starting setting
up rack and practice on it as soon as possible, since this is what ccie is
all about..

Have a nice study...

Dave,
CCNA and CCNP are not part of the R/S track.
Your friend should simply go for his CCIE - he will save over $600 in
exam fees.
Best regards,
Andrew

Subject: OT: Cisco Courseware
Hi guys
I'm trying to help out a colleague and friend. He wants to do the R/S
track
(CCNA, CCNP and CCIE). He's some good hands on. He's not got time/money
to
attend courses so wants to get the official Cisco courseware for CCNA
Intro,
CCNA (ICND) and all 4 CCNP courses.
Does anyone have these manuals (used or new)? He wants to buy these. I
know he
can buy the Cisco Press books that are similar but he wants the course
manuals. Is there any place he can buy these from?
Thanks for your help.
Dave
