I think we need to be careful before reacting strongly to this. It's
absolutely true that sharing copyrighted material without paying for it is
an ethical violation, just as movie piracy is (to use another example).
That is perfectly clear...
What I find a little troubling is how the responses have come out so far. I
think a private comment about the ethical and legal implications is in
order, and even a public one. But to assail someone's character is another
matter and just seems to reinforce the stereotype that us "techie types"
lack civility and basic people skills to ever be allowed out to deal with
"real people."
