There are two ways you can do the load balancing .
1) Un-equal cost load balancing ( done through variance )
2) Equal cost load balancing ( You need not do any thing for this to work .
If metric is same this will be automatically turned on ) .
How to tweak the metric to support load balancing ????
One way I could think of is to use "bandwidth <kbps> " command on the
interface . This will certainly work for OSPF . But with EIGRP you have
other parameters as well besides bandwidth ( load , MTU etc ) . You will
have to give careful consideration if you are using these values as well in
your EIGRP metric calculations.
If every thing( I mean all the K values ) is left to default , tweaking the
bandwidth will definitely turn on the equal-cost load balancing .
