Leigh,

Your rack will be pre-configured - cables, ip addresses, etc.

When you get to the lab, the proctors will tell you to verify that the ip
addressing on the routers and switches are consistent with what's in your
lab booklet but if not to immediately bring this to the proctor's attention.

On the screen, you will see an icon for the terminal server and each of the
devices in your rack so you do indeed have access to the terminal server.
If you use setup scripts like I do this can save you lots of time because
you can use the send command on the term server to send your script to all
devices in your rack at once.

Regarding ip addressing, most but not necessarily all, ip addresses will be
pre-configured but it should be fairly obvious where you need to add an ip
address.

Be sure to read the lab instructions carefully before adding any ip subnets
- you might or might not be allowed to do so.

If you have enough knowledge that you could pass, then I recommend that you
read my post from 9/2 on the Top Reasons Me and others with enough skill
don't pass.

Having enough skill and knowledge is, of course, a pre-requisite for passing
the lab but, in itself not enough. So, read my earlier post to see what
else you need to pass.

HTH, Tim

Subject: What to expect at the testing centre

All,

As my day draws ever nearer, I've got a few questions about what to
expect at the center.

Will all of my kit be in a rack and cabled correctly ?
Is there a terminal server?
Will it be preconfigured or is it "optional" ?
Will I have to decide on ip addressing or will I be told?
I have been using the IEWB labs and the IP's are already in there.

I'd like to get as many "little things" cleared up as possible before I go.

Many thanks in advance,
LH
