  Go to www.cisco.com and do a search for password recovery . The first
document that comes up would be very very clear on how to recover the password
or clear the config.

    mark,
    i can't clear the config b/c i can't actually get to the command line. i
    just get to "press return to get started", followed by 1/2 minute of
nothing
    and then a reinitialzation of line console 0 and then back to "press
return
    to get started". i tried to do password recovery but when i try and send
a
    break signal <i'm assuming the break key, or ctrl-brake, or alt, or shift>
i
    get nothing. i get to no place where i can actually do command line
stuff.
