Sure, sounds like a classic lab trap.
Also, as a quasi-validation (since we'll never know the 'true' answer from a
Cisco lab), when doing vendor lab books (NMC, IEWB, etc...), if the same set
of tasks appear throughout their lab, they'll make sure to exclude the IPs
from their DHCP pool.
