It has been and probably will be for a long time, the average attempts to
pass are 3.
This is not from scientific proof, but it is my observation over the past 10
to 15 years.
Yes, some of us are fortunate enough to pass the 1st attempt, but there are
just as many that have failed it 6 or more times.
It is not Cisco that is failing the candidates, it is the candidates
themselves that are failing. You really need to commit yourself to this if
you want it bad enough.

I find it kind of odd that most of the CCIE's on this board and the one's I
know personally have all taken the test a minimum of three times before
passing.
Being that Cisco is making $1250 a pop (not including the revenue from
written exams and books) and with the high failure rate being part of the
allure of attaining CCIE status, could Cisco be purposely failing people on
their first few attempts?
