i took the mock-lab workshop b4 my first attempt and got close.........but
no cigar. no cigar on my 2nd or 3rd attempt.
ie's mocklab workshop is pretty much good for assessing weather or not you
have mastered their lab manual, which by no means is a good indicator as to
weather you'll pass the real deal. there are tons of gotchas that get
thrown into the mix and methods of configuring particular technologies that
you would never think of .....unless of course you are in the actual lab.
the lab is not as straight forward as ie's manual. some people say that the
manual is harder than the actual test. this is both right and wrong. when
you do a particular vendors manual you learn how to "read" that vendors
questions and intuit what they are looking for. but as most ccie's and
candidates know, being able to read into cisco's questions is a very
"different" experience than it is for IE, or IPex. i'm sure that if you sat
for 20 lab attempts you would be able to clue into what cisco is looking
for. but who has that kind of doe? - tim perhaps ;)
does IE give you a good foundational skill-set to work with? yes.
is the mock lab a good indication of weather you will pass on your first
attempt?........you be the judge in 10 days.
good luck.
