This is an interesting subject....motivation. As was said, you really need to
want to do it for the enjoyment and search for knowledge, which should be a
life goal....learning. I am on that journey, but it appears that there can be
two approaches.... I like to run, so comparatively....Can it be a sprint?
Going hard and fast as you can. Or, can it be a marathon? Going slower,
planned and persistent, but yet consistent and disciplined. I would like to
hear thoughts on this one too. I've heard it said before that ....if you
take any subject, and study it for one hour every day.....that you will be an
expert in that subject in five years. Hmmmm.

I capture a paycheck every now and then. I even get the occasional raise
:)
But in all honesty I dont do it for the money it's all for the greater
good
and all that jazz, etc...It makes me feel better to go through the
program,
it also helped me make warrant officer which is was an added bonus.

Kiss your family life and any other fun stuff you do goodbye for the
period it takes to study and pass the exam...In all seriousnous, you
just have to suck it up and keep on studying. The motivation is whatever
motivated you to begin to start with. For each person this is different,
my motivation is different than someone elses..I'm not motivated by
money, I get paid the same not matter what..I'm in the military and
comparable engineers make twice my salary on the outside whether I have
the IE or not...I just like learning, that's my motivation. So figure
out what your motivation is and whether it's strong enough to carry you
through the long hours of studying....
