Regarding my strategy.
Can't add anything new for materials so the standard sources there.

One bit of advice is that when you are feeling down or frustrated go to
careerbuilder and search with "cisco" or "ccie" for job opportunities.
I gave me the strength to continue on my arduous path.

Also know your weakness.
For instance I would always forgot about split-horizon.
I would eventually figure it out but only after spending valuable time
troubleshooting.
So if I made the same mistake 3 or more time I would write it down.
Then I would read my list of common mistakes before I started each lab.
I read my list right before my last exam and it really helped.
I called it my "stupid list".

The last thing I can suggest is to budget and plan.
I planned for three lab attempts over 6 months.
So I went about $1700 over budget because I had to make a fourth attempt
and was over my timeline by about 2 months.
So plan and budget for what you think your attempts will look like.
That way if you don't pass you have a backup plan already in place.

Hope this helps.

See ya,
David
