BGP redistributing a default route to null0

Quick BGP question for you. The way I understand it, redistributing a
default route to null0 into BGP will effectively do two things.
1 - blackhole traffic from the redistributing router that is not going to a
known route
2 - force all other routers peered with that redistributing router to send
traffic to unknown networks to that router.

In a real world application, you would put the default route onto a central
BGP router that will always have NLRI for all networks, and in turn cause
its peers to send traffic they don't know about to the central router, which
in turn can pass the traffic to the proper destination (since it has NLRI
for all possible networks). Correct?
