Yes, MTU should be matched between two equipments.
OSPF uses media MTU to send as much as info they can.
Otherwise, you can configure "ip ospf mtu-ignore" under interface
configuraiton.
You can check this command from Cisco.com for more info.
It is supported since 12.0(3).
