That is interesting! So, I am assuming that if you want for each of the two
hosts (10.80.80.7 and 10.80.80.4) to EACH have 8000bps of bandwidth, then you
would probably need to specifically define a separate rate-limit statements
and access-lists for each host. Agreed?

Hi,
Interesting question, I haven't check cisco page yet. Just lab up to
see
the result. Outgoing traffic has limited to the rate that we specific.
In my
lab, I use 8000bps/ no burst.
rate-limit output access-group 3 8000 2000 2000 conform-action transmit
exceed drop
r1#show access-l 3
Standard IP access list 3
20 permit 10.80.80.7 (342 matches)
10 permit 10.80.80.4 (1544 matches)
r1#show int s0/0
30 second input rate 7000 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec
30 second output rate 7000 bits/sec, 1 packets/sec
r1#show int s0/0 rate-limit
Serial0/0
Output
matches: access-group 3
params: 8000 bps, 2000 limit, 2000 extended limit
conformed 402 packets, 590608 bytes; action: transmit
exceeded 537 packets, 807648 bytes; action: drop
last packet: 368ms ago, current burst: 947 bytes
last cleared 00:09:50 ago, conformed 8000 bps, exceeded 10000 bps
