Unless I misunderstand your question, I'd suggest looking at the doc
configuring VTP on the documentation CD and noting the entry under
understanding VTP Modes:
Transparent-VTP transparent network devices do not participate in VTP
Hence there would be nothing for pruning to work on.

Does anyone know if this command works in VTP transparent mode ?
Or is the only way to limit vlans on a trunk in transparent mode is to
use the "switchport trunk allowed vlan" command.
