Justin,
Using notepad to prepare configuration or tcl ping test in the lab, IMHO
it will make task easier and save a lot of time while verifying or
troubleshooting. But better prepare if it does not have for some reason.
Some people will freakout even this is not the big issue. Just my opinion.
