The "open" is just saying that the telnet session is connected.
Why don't you just post your whole configuration here along with the
output of the "show line 1 16" command.

i had a bad cable on this 2511 for ports 9-16 <it has 1 port for 1-8 and
another for 9-16 that use the octal cables>. i replaced the cable but
still am unable to establish a reverse telnet session throught ports
9-16
when i telnet in i get a status of "open" but i don't seem to interface
w/
the router....i just get a blank screen and nothing when i hit enter a
few
times. would a bad async port still show connections as being "open"?
it
seems like the port is bad but perhaps i'm doing something wrong. any
suggestions?
