Subject: It's over!!!!
The partying has finally stopped, so I wanted to send a message out to the
group to share the good news. I received notice about two weeks ago that I
passed my CCIE lab. What makes my success story a little unique is that I
passed on a re-read! I knew prior to putting in for a re-read that my
chances were low, but still I was confident that I scored in the 90% range.
I was pleasantly surprised to see my CCIE number where a "not certified" was
once displayed and relieved that my R&S studies had finally come to an end.
I want to thank groupstudy for providing such a useful resource for CCIE
preparation. As far as study material recommendations, I went with NMC for
the bulk of my training. The DoiT and CheckiT labs proved to be just what
was needed for me to tackle the lab with confidence and pass on my first
attempt. If you perform well on the CheckiT labs, you should have a pretty
good shot at the real thing. I also attended the NMC-1 class which I would
recommend to anyone that is within 2-6 months of taking the exam. Thank you
Bruce, Val, Bob, Azer, Alexei, and Indy! You guys have put together an
excellent CCIE prep program and I couldn't have gotten my number without
your help. Mitch, I don't know if you participate on this list anymore, but
I want to also thank you for all your expert advice and support. You were
also a key part in my success. I also purchased IPexpert's R&S audio CD set.
Scott Morris did a great job giving these audio presentations. Thanks Scott.
To the two Brians, I have not used the IE lab workbook, but learned plenty
from your in-depth postings on groupstudy and appreciate the time taken to
help people such as myself achieve their goals. You too Marvin, thanks a
bunch for you time. There are a number of others to thank within the
groupstudy community, so I send out a big "Thank You All". Along with the
books that have been mentioned 100 times (Doyle, Halabi, etc.) I would
recommend spending a lot of time reading through the 12.3 configuration
guides on the DocCD. I didn't read them all, but went through most of them.
Good luck to all who will be taking the lab in the near future. For
now.......
