I noticed that this example uses an esi address at both routers for the local
end. This may be a different question, but I thought that you needed to
configure the entire nsap at each router when using svc's. And, use either
for configured pvc's. Any details on this. The doc cd doesn't seem to
details this (from what I could find).

Subject: RE: PPP over ATM SVC
Read the restrictions for PPP over SVC:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121newft
/121t/121t3/dtppposv.htm
***********************************************************************
Restrictions
The PPP over ATM SVCs feature does not support PPP over ATM SVC dialout
mode.
***********************************************************************
Basically you could create a hacked configuration and eventually
you may get it to work but it will not work consistently since PPP over
SVC is not designed to run between two Cisco routers. It's designed to
work between a router and a DSL modem.

Have you succesfully configured PPP over ATM SVC?
It does not work on 12.2T. ((C3640-JS-M), Version 12.2(15)T1)
I am using an example on this page:
