I have a question regarding the following link.
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/104/dcprob.html
Under Reason 4, it states
"Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP) and RIP are classful routing protocols, and therefore the network statement in the configuration is for a classful network of 131.108.0.0. Because of this the host route of 131.108.1.2/32 is considered to be originated by RIP and gets redistributed into OSPF as an external route as shown below."
Why is the route considered to be originated by RIP? OSPF has a lower AD than RIP and the are both configured to advertise the network. Based on the lower AD, wouldn't OSPF own the network? Also due to RIP being classful it will summarize to 131.108.0.0 while OSPF has the longer and more specific 131.108.1.0 network. Wouldn't that also give OSPF ownership?
Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.
