Hi
You are correct. Outbound distribute lists are not allowed in OSPF. You
will have to do an inbound distribute list on the other end of the link.

Amit -
I am going to take a shot at this one. In OSPF, the databases at all
routes
that have adjancies...must have the same database. Therefore, I would
think
that filtering (through a distribute list) this information would break
the
OSPF rules. However, if you do this inbound....you are filtering the
information from the OSPF database that exists as it is presented into
the
route table. Does this sound accurate?

Subject: Distribute-list in OSPF
Hi Group
When I am applying a distribute-list in OSPF its giving an error :
Rack4R1(config-router)#distribute-list 50 out s0/0
% Interface not allowed with OUT for OSPF
Or
Rack4R1(config-router)#distribute-list prefix R2 out s0/0
% Interface not allowed with OUT in case of OSPF
My s0/0 is a frame relay physcal interface with ip ospf network type
point-to-multipoint non-broadcast defined. Inverse arp is disabled on
interface.
IOS on the router is 12.2(15)T7
Has anybody seen this problem before?
Thanks
Amit jain
