EIGRP Summary Route Subject to Split-Horizon?

If an EIGRP router receives specific subnets and advertises the
summarized route back out the same interface.
In this case, should the split-horizon rule be disabled on the
interface? My test shows that it is not necessary.
But a workbook that I am using says the summary route is also subject to
the split-horizon rule.
 
Anybody has any comment on this?
