Spyros,

If you intend passing a routing protocol accross the ISDN link to the other
side, you have to include the 'broadcast' key word for that to take place.
This was what the CCO doc. you referrenced below was trying to say. eg
'dialer map ip 1.1.1.1 broadcast 234'. The broadcast key word is needed if
you want broadcasts to be sent to ip address '1.1.1.1'

Offcourse, broadcast includes multicast. Scott was trying to say that, the
brodcast key word will also pass multicasts traffics, incase such traffics
are in the Lab.

There are many other methods, you can use to prevent multicast/broadcast
from brinding up your isdn circuit. Removing the broadcast keyword might
affect your network in many other ways, so it is not advisable to do that.
Good access-lists with dialer-list commands will enable one to effectively
control which type of traffic brings up the isdn circuit.

Remember that, the isdn link is majorly used as a backup circuit, in that
role it should be able to function just like the primary link that went down
and the broadcast keyword is vital to this.

Again, it depend on the Lab scenerio, but if the scenerio did not
specifically states that I should not, I will in all cases include the
broadcast keyword.
