That book is a bit dangerous now - notice that it includes sections no
longer tested (lots of Token Ring discussions still) and it does not
cover new topics like Wireless in the depth needed to pass the
written.

I would pass it on - but make sure your friend uses it AGAINST the
latest written exam blueprint.
