"no ip route-cache" for policy routing

i was doing an IE lab w/ policy routintg and the solution guide does not
show "no ip route-cache" on the interface.......i thought you needed that
command for policy routing, or is that only for "local" policy routing??

if you do need it for policy routing, does it just need to be on the
interface where policy-routing is enabled or does it need to be in the
ingress and egress points?
