Hi Robbie,
I took the exam twice my 1st time was in San Jose, my 2nd time was in RTP.
I am originally from Egypt so I have a huge time differnce between both places. This didn't make a problem for me as I arrived a couple of days before the day of the exam to adjust for the time difference. Just arrive in advance to get over this obstacle.
Climate differences: I found San Jose weather much more beautiful that RTP. Also San Jose has lots of places to go and visit, and lots of restaurents. On the other hand RTP is very humid but has very beautiful scenery. A lot of green areas than you can ever imagine.
Proctor's differences: This feedback will be different from one person openion to the other but my experience with proctors is similar to Daniel. San Jose proctor was not cooperative, whenever I ask a question his reply is that the question is quite clear or it's all in the paper. He even replied to me once that I do not have time for you to ask so many questions - a total of 5 questions only during the whole lab !!! -. RTP proctor was the other side of the picture, very frieldly and welcoming man. He was always supportive and had lots of patience with our questions. He even tried to relax us down during the lunch break to remove the tense.
Forgot to mention that I got my number in RTP so maybe that's why I am biased :)
I would recommed RTP.
Good Luck,
Yasser

Hi Robbie,
I took the test three times all told. The first two times were in Brussels,
as I am currently working in Vienna, Austria. I found it a little...
tough... in Brussels. The biggest problem I had was getting clarification
on the questions, as some of those questions are a little airy-fairy.
I tried with the boys at Brussels, and actually had a different Proctor each
time, but their mother tongue doesnt seem to be English. Either way... we
didn't hit it off to well, and the answer seemed to always be 'Just do what
it asks.'
So, I bit the bullet and coughed up the dough to go and be tested in an
English speaking country. Going back home to Sydney was a little too far,
but I jumped on a plane to RTP a couple of days before the exam. This
helped me get over the jet lag, and come test day I was ok again. The
Proctor I had was Howard, and from the start it was totally different. Like
ptorney mentioned, he greets you in the morning and has a chat to you, and
is quite approachable.
I had a couple of questions during the day, and he was always able to
clarify them, even if it was to tell me i was thinking to complex. The next
day... I had my number! There was even a girl from Canada that got her
number the same day, on her first try. She had put in a full years solid
study up to that day.
Whereever you end up... good luck!
Dan
