Hi,

IOS gets lost sometimes. It we would do a list of situations when it happens, I think it would not be small.

For example, checking the trust ip-precedence under police-map on 3550, I removed the trust command and IOS do not stop trust packets. As I was sure it should stop trust, I shutdown interface fa0/7. After no shutdown it starts to work correctly. Version is C3550-I5K2L2Q3-M.

R7-e0/1------fa-0/7-CAT2------CAT1------R5

CAT2 trust and mark down packet coming from R7 on int fa 0/7.
CAT 1 trust CAT2
R5 monitors marking

cat2

no trust ip-precedence

r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 11022 packets, 1253566 bytes
    Precedence 5: 5725 packets, 650569 bytes
r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 11022 packets, 1253566 bytes
    Precedence 5: 5802 packets, 659347 bytes
r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 11022 packets, 1253566 bytes
    Precedence 5: 5841 packets, 663741 bytes

Shut, no shut on CAT2 port that connectes R7.
Now CAT2 stop trusting packets coming from R7:

r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 13429 packets, 1528501 bytes
    Precedence 5: 6136 packets, 697270 bytes
r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 13505 packets, 1537165 bytes
    Precedence 5: 6136 packets, 697270 bytes
r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 13623 packets, 1550523 bytes
    Precedence 5: 6136 packets, 697270 bytes
r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 13662 packets, 1554969 bytes
    Precedence 5: 6136 packets, 697270 bytes
r5#sh int e 0/0 precedence
Ethernet0/0
  Input
    Precedence 0: 13700 packets, 1559301 bytes
    Precedence 5: 6136 packets, 697270 bytes
