Merging BGP backbone routers

Hi,
I wonder if I could use 1 backbone router with 2 ethernet interfaces
instead of 2 backbone routers.
Can I separate the bgp processes even if the advertised BGP routes do
overlap regarding the AS path and network prefix?
e.g.:
BB1:
BGP AS 100
 advertising prefix 100.100/16

BB2:
 BGP AS 100
 advertising prefixes 100.100/16, 200.200/16

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
