I built a lab and messed with this, and this is what seemed to be the
case: (does anyone know if I am correct)
YOU CAN:
1) You can SNIFF all the ports on a switch or a whole VLAN with a
SNIFFER plugged into that switch. (SPAN)
2) You can have the traffic for ports on a switch copied onto the RSPAN
VLAN, and shipped up the TRUNK links to the destination switch, with the
destination port where the SNIFFER is (RSPAN)
YOU CANNOT:
3) You cant have the destination port on a switch get the traffic form
local ports, and at the same time get the traffic from the RSPAN VLAN.
