Use a Ctrl-V before each special character that you want to appear.

I wish to enter a password which contains a '?' character. How I do this
without the IOS interpreting this as a querying for the available commands..

E.g. can't set password 'Isityou?'

Sw1(config)#vtp password Isityou?
