Pruning is not VTP traffic. Pruning itself is a technique to reduce unknown broadcast traffic.

VTP V3 is a good solution, but the lab cat's software does not support V3. Transparent is not a solution, though this question is exactly about VTP Transparent. Right solution is to filter inbound all packets with DMAC 0100.0CCC.CCCC and NSAP 0x2003 on range fa0/1 - 24.
