Roy,

Check out the ccie lab equipment page - it list which hardware and IOS
versions are used in the lab.

I don't recall which version of IOS is used on the 3550 but it's not the
most current version. Once you find the version, you can check the Config
Guide to see if a particular feature is supported in that release.

A couple of months ago, I noticed that a new release of IOS for the 3550 had
some new feature which looked like it would take a fair amount of time and
effort to master and I got somewhat upset until someone pointed out that I
didn't need to worry about it as this new feature wasn't included in the IOS
release actually used in the lab right now.

So, go see which IOS release is used and then base your studying off of
that.

HTH, Tim

Subject: Private vlans & 3550

Hi,

I'm not as clear about IOS versions on switches as I am on routers.

Anyone know if the private vlans feature is available on the 3550's
yet? If not is it likely to be? And if it does become available, does
it become fair game on the lab straight away, or should we get an
announcement?
