Thanks for replying Marvin it is a 3640 with 32/128 running IOS 12.3T.
The issue is this , I have been doing IE lab 2 and there is a section in
Qos that pertains to ftp , so for some testing I was playing with the
ftp features such as this:

ftp-server enable
ftp-server top-dir flash:

So that I could telnet from other routers to this router. When I did a
no on the 2 above commands it worked fine , so it as if they lock the
flash up so you can't write to it even though it is read/write flash

What model is the router? Does the Flash show as read-only in the
output of
'show version'?

Hi, when trying to copy my running config to flash for back up I get
the following error , but only on this router for some reason all other
routers copy fine , anyone seen this error before ??
