Hi Anthony. I too have to retake my written so based on your reply here I
just purchased your materials (Amazon). Looks like other reviewers found
your stuff pretty good as well.

HI John!

I co-authored that book and can speak to its quality.

First of all - I do believe it is the only book on the market that covers
the LATEST exam blueprint. This would include topics like wireless and not
include topics like Token Ring. So I am afraid that your choices are quite
limited.

Now - here is how a couple of friends recently used this book to help that
pass on the first attempt. They started with the Study Sheets in the book!
They actually tore them out for easier transport and went through them
numerous times. I believe that a vast majority of all actual exam questions
can be answered from the very thorough study sheets that we created.

Next - they raced through the Flash Cards - they found most were very easy
to answer after studying the Study Sheets.

Finally, they went through all questions on the CD-ROM. Please keep in mind
that the questions on the CD-ROM are multiple choice-based without much
length or exhibits. In the actual exam - you will have much longer questions
with exhibits. Our CD-ROM questions had to be short without exhibits due to
limitations in the technology unfortunately. What we tried to do was quiz
you on the facts that you will need to know for tougher questions - for
example - we grill you on the order that BGP selects the best route - just
in case you face a scenario question about BGP that would force you to know
that order!

The only negative these friends told me about the book - it did not go in to
enough detail on Access Lists. So I would warn you that our security section
might be a bit weak. Supplement it with the Online Documentation at
Cisco.com.

Best of luck - and I hope you enjoy the book. I would love your feedback
after you see the exam - I am guessing we will write a second edition.
