Hey Marvin,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I was hoping this would work the same way as ipv4 where I can ping a subnet
like this:
R4#p 119.0.0.0
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 119.0.0.0, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 4/4/4 ms
119.0.0.0 is not a host address but it pings to it work just the same.
In the particular case of the ping below, I don't have access to the remote
router and so I can't turn on debugs there.
Is there anything else I can try?
TIA, Tim

Destinations in the route table are ROUTES. Unless they are /128, they
probably aren't the same as the host configured address on the other end.
Additionally, the traffic needs to get there and get back. Did you turn on
'debug ipv6 icmp' on the far side, and see if the traffic is getting there?

Hi guys,
I'm sorry if this is a very dumb question but I'm still getting my feet wet
with ipv6.
I'm trying to ping destinations in my ipv6 route table and failing. I
suspect I'm using the wrong form of the address but I tried various forms
and none worked.
Here's the ipv6 route table and ping results:

What's the correct to ping global ipv6 routes in the route table?
