NTP Peer - our mode active, peer mode active

Once I read it is not recommended to configure "ntp peer..." on both sides, to avoid inconsistency.

Are you aware of this recommendation?
I could not find the reference. Doyle VII, Deals' book Cisco Router Firewall Security,

I configure "ntp peer.." on two routers, 12.2T, and it seems to work fine:

our mode active, peer mode active, our poll intvl 64, peer poll intvl 64

R3 has BB2 as the preferred server (bigger stratum). When it loses connectivity with BB2, it synchronizes with R6 (same stratum).
