Hi Tim,

The order dictates to the router the way the router attempts to
authenticate. So..., if the router is configured with 'ppp authen chap
pap', the router will first try to authenticate with CHAP, if that isn't
recognized, the router will attempt with PAP. If by your second question
you are wondering which order to apply the commands, from vendors WBs
(mostly InternetworkExpert which will beat PPP authentication into your
brain) the vendor labs will always specify the order required.
