That would seem to be a pretty fair assessment!
Although CDP is a SNAP-based protocol, when looking at your dialer-list
configuration, you don't really have any mechanism to look for that protocol
type or dive within the LLC field that much to see anything.
Typically stub routers have the interesting traffic. And if you are running
ODR, what route(s) do they have? When that disappears it should trigger a
phone call.
I suppose, depending on your scenario, you could also have the hub be the
one initiating a call. That would simply be a matter of semantics.
Choose a learned route and configure dialer-watch to reach to it!
Besides, if CDP were actually interesting traffic, your ISDN connection
would be up all the time! And I'm sure that's not what you were really
trying to accomplish!
Cheers,
Scott

I dont believe you can make CDP interesting ..
which pretty much means you cant make ODR interesting ..
That means you wont be using interesting traffic to bring up your ODR side
but nothing stopping you using backup interfaces or dialer-watch,
I'd imagine dialer-watch is the more flexible solution, are you referring to
a backup type problem ?
or a real world ISDN link ??
if its real world, and its a low end router, use rip.

CDP?
:)
That's how ODR works.

Subject: ODR as interesting packet?
Hi
When the stub networks are connected to the hub router over the ISDN
network, should be the ODR packets are configured as interesting traffic on
the stub or hub or both? If so, how are the ODR packets configured as the
interesting traffic?
Thanks in advance
