Quoting Sumit <sumit.kumar@comcast.net>:
Friends,
I've following questions on NAT:
1) What exactly interface commands "IP NAT INSIDE" and IP NAT OUTSIDE" do?
They mark which interface is the 'outside' and
'inside' interfaces.
2)What is the difference between "ip nat inside source static ..." and "ip
nat outside source static ... "
If an interface is marked as inside ... then the
'ip nat inside source static' command will nat
traffic passing through the router from the
'inside' to the 'outside'.
If an interface is marked as 'outside' ... then
the 'ip nat outside source static' command will
nat traffic passing from the 'outside' interface
to the 'inside' interface.
thanks in advance.
Sumit
